The time it took to paint the illustration was approximately 4 weeks, but the sketch period extended to approximately 6 months before the painting started.
To get the right composition 3, articulated, models were made that were placed in several scenes to find the right angle. The intention was to show why the right frontal horn is broken and to show two Tyrannosaurs that hunted the animal.
